Miss Nepal 2016

Miss nepal is a national Beauty pageant in Nepal. The winner is send to Miss World contest where else the 1st & 2nd runner ups are send to Miss Earth and Miss International pageants respectively. Asmi Shrestha is the reigning Miss Nepal 2016. 

Nepal also sends representatives in other minor global pageants such as Miss Grand International, Miss Tourism Queen International, Miss Globe International, Miss Heritage and Miss Asia Pacific World.

 Hidden Treasures Fanta Miss Nepal 2016, the 21st annual Miss Nepal beauty pageant, was held on 8 April 2016 at Hotel Annapurna in Kathmandu. Miss Nepal 2015 Evana Manandhar crowned her successor Asmi Shrestha  as Miss Nepal World 2016 who will represent Nepal in the upcoming Miss World 2016.
The winner of Miss Nepal 2016 will serve as the brand ambassador of popular drink Fanta and WWF Nepal for one-year term. In addition, she will also receive a sum of Rs. 100,000 as prize for winning the title. The auditions of Miss Nepal were held in Biratnagar, Birgunj, Chitwan, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Butwal & Kathmandu.
 


KATHMANDU: Asmi Shrestha won the title of Miss Nepal  2016 as she overcame other 18 contestants at the beauty pageant’s grand finale held in Kathmandu this evening
The pageant was organised by The Hidden Treasure at the DurbarMarg-based hotel de l’Annapurna.
                                                                                                                                                                           Evana Manandhar, Miss Nepal 2015, handed the crown to the new (21st) Miss Nepal Asmi Shrestha at thee grand finale.
Shrestha will represent Nepal in the Miss World Contest this year. Similarly, the first and second runners-up will represent Nepal in the Miss Earth and the Miss International respectively.
Roshani Khatri (first runner-up) was crowned with the title Miss Nepal Earth 2016  while Barsha Lekhi (second runner-up) bagged the Miss Nepal International 2016.
The top five finalists who made it to the last round were asked a common question by the jury. The contestants were required to write down the answer on a paper in a given time, which was later read out.
The question was: Do you agree with quota reservation for women? Is it good, bad and you do not have any reservation?
The contestants were asked to pick one option among three and justify the position with logical reasons.
This was the question which determined the winner as Shrestha’s short and sweet answer won the hearts of jury members.
Ashma KC bagged the title of Miss Fascino and Miss Athletic where as the winner Shrestha won the titles of Miss Photogenic and Miss Intellectual as well.
Likewise, Ayshma Shrestha won the Bubbly Popular choice award.
The final 19 finalists had auditioned for the beauty pageant, from various cities of Nepal, including Dharan, Biratnagar, Chitwan, Butwal and Pokhara.
